Epoxy Lining

Epoxy Lining? Yes that's correct, epoxy lining. It's the white lining inside many canned foods, for example like the Hunt's Mamwich can that I opened tonight to make dinner. OK so it's not my favorite or the healthiest meal but I opted for a quick sloppy joe, and then I did not eat it.

Epoxy. The lining contains a toxic chemical called Bisphenol-A which is linked to breast and prostate cancer and to birth defects because it is an endocrine disruptor.  Baby bottles are now produced "BPA Free." According to the EPA website, the government mandates margins for exposure to BPA, and plenty of people get more than their share of the marked amount. One study shows 95% of a group of 400 individuals tested revealed BPA in their urine. The FDA is slack.

So... I visited the ConAgra Foods website to submit my complaint and to share the EPA info and ask that they stop using the lining.  We shall see if my itty bitty request will even be heard or will make a dent, but I did it anyway.
