Almost Summer!!

Well, we're almost there!  Summer.  Already 91 plus degrees and rising.  The typical conversations begin... "90's already! What happened to spring? We need some rain!"   Heck, it does seem to get worse every year.  Maybe it is hotter to date than it was when we were kids or maybe it's just that we were young and naive and unaccustomed to air conditioning?!  I think it definitely the latter!
The weather during all of May was honestly tolerable.  I finally planted my vegetables and herbs in my new beds.  Tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, red bell peppers, and spearmint, chives, parsley, and sage.  I hope they make it!

We also had a few successful fishing days.  Jeslyn caught a nice 42 lb catfish on one trip with Van.  She laughs at this picture because she was straining to keep her composure.

Later, I was lucky enough to catch a nice little 1.2 lb bream!  Maybe I should have posted my picture first, and then Jeslyns??

So, try to get out there and enjoy the summer - plan wisely!

  2. Jennifer,
I don't think I'll be able to eat catfish again! Bless their hearts. They need a complete makeover, don't they. . .
P.S. Used some of the leftover poop on the tomatoes. If they survive, even with the late planting, it will be because of your generosity. . .xxooM.

  3. Uncle & Auntie, thanks for the comment!!! I was excited to see you here ;O)

Martha, the catfish are lacking in the eye-candy dept for sure. Your tomatoes will make it! I just know it.
