Organized or Compulsive? Fun I Say!

I love Better Homes and Gardens magazine.  Mainly because I love to get ideas from the photos of homes and rooms all decorated and arranged, and from the articles about organization.  Even the BHG website has a ton of decorating ideas, the quick and easy kind where you don't have to go out and buy anything really. Oh and the website is to the right of this page under my favorite links!  So many ideas, tastes and colors, furniture, things old and new.
As a kid, I wanted to be an "interior decorator" but I can't remember what ever gave me the idea, considering I lived in the country and was the biggest tomboy ever.  I didn't have DIY channel!  Even building forts in the woods and playhouses in my grandparents basement, I loved the arranging and decorating part of it.  It became worse as I grew older.  I would go to Kimberly's and rearrange her moms kitchen cabinets, organizing all of the canned foods by type with labels aligned.  She couldn't find a thing for a few days.  Pathetic isn't it?  As if their home needed it!  Never. Her mom was a clean freak.  I can't go into a store without putting disarrayed items back in their spot. It's obviously more of a compulsive habit.
But now the fun part of it is that there are really no limits.  It's your home, you can rearrange it any way you like.  So what if you move furniture!!  Get over it and get moving.  You can put it back if you don't like it.  Sometimes you just have to actually move it all to its place to see it for what it really is.  Envisioning it isn't always the answer.  Or if you have too much "stuff" and you can only donate so much of it, then search for ideas on organizing.  There are tons of ideas. Steal them from someone else if it makes your life easier!

I love this picture of you as a baby organizer. I'll bet the blankets in your crib were color coordinated and neatly folded. . .:) Well, you need to come over girl, I've got a pantry that needs you in the worst way! I'll serve the coffee and we'll get busy, wine for our reward!
Seriously, this is a real talent, not pathetic at all. . .it's wonderful to be aware of what you are drawn to naturally as creative expression. . .love it, love it, love it. . .
